Happy Wednesday folks. Not much to report here, just the usual daily stuff of life- days with a little one, juggling work when I can, cooking, tidying, planning, admiring the crocuses and the first daffodils. Seeing old friends when I can, and seeking out new ones in our new area. All keeping me busy. Hope you’re well folks xxx
{ad} I was so pleased when @puffinBooksUK offered to send me a copy of this beautiful book written and illustrated by the very talented Sabina Radeva. It is the first ever picture-book version of Charles Darwin's On The Origin of Species and, honestly, it really is a very special book. Evolution is an incredibly important but difficult concept for children to learn, and this book's beautiful colourful illustrations and simple text make it accessible and engaging even for young children. Nye and I have loved finding all of his favourite animals in it together and I know that it will be such a useful resource as he gets older too and starts asking lots of tricky questions about the world we live in! I loved the illustrations of Down House and Darwin's family too - they reminded me of our visits to Downe back when we used to live nearby. The book launched on 7 February, in perfect time for Darwin Day tomorrow. #OnTheOriginOfSpecies #CharlesDarwin @sabinadreams #ad
Easy like Sunday morning. We’ve had pancakes and I’m finally feeling a bit better, woohoo!! Hope you’ve got a lovely day ahead of you 💕
I’ll be honest: this week has been one of the most difficult parenting weeks so far and I’m ridiculously glad it’s Friday but these swans at Slimbridge Wetland Centre yesterday were a very welcome highlight. If you ever get a chance to go, it’s a beautiful, peaceful place with swans, flamingos, kingfishers, ducks, geese and many many other feathered beauties roaming free to feed and admire. Now I’m trying to work out how to avoid doing the food shop and persuade my little buddy to just chill on the sofa with me for the rest of the day (not gonna happen) xxx
