#mynaturestory - February 2017

I launched the #mynaturestory tag a few months ago as a way of noting our everyday encounters with nature, and celebrating its ability to soothe, inspire and sustain us as we go about our daily lives. Since then, I have been bowled over by the number and variety of beautiful images populating the gallery. I love watching how the images progress with the changing of the seasons, and I am often prompted to get out and look for little natural happenings that others have spotted. Another wonderful and unexpected aspect is the contribution of people from all over the globe, and the chance to get a glimpse into the natural world that they inhabit, so far from this island of ours. Thank you so much for joining in!

This month I teamed up with Inkifi for a little competition and, after much deliberation, chose this image by Zoe of @zoe_lea as the winner, as it perfectly summed up what #mynaturestory is all about, and it's so wonderfully atmospheric. I loved the reflection in the glassy water and the incredible green and brown tones. It made me want to pull on my walking boots and head to the Lake District immediately!  Thank you so much for sharing your image, Zoe. Please get in touch to talk about claiming your prize of some beautiful prints of your Instagram photos.

I also loved these four wonderful images by (clockwise from top) @chiffe_london, @hygge_and_me,  @_flowerandland and @wild_meadow which celebrate the best of natural beauty of this time of year - soft wintry sunshine, drifts of snowdrops, the first signs of spring and long, muddy weekend walks. Thank you so much for sharing these!

Here's to spring, and a whole new season of nature stories!
