New weaving workshop dates!

Those of you who follow me will have heard about my weaving workshops, which I held over the Spring and early Summer. I had such an amazing time sharing my love of weaving with the attendees - introducing them to the basic techniques, supporting them in choosing and planning their designs and guiding them through a whole range of different materials and yarns. We wove around my kitchen table, sunlight streaming in gently, surrounded by flowers and a soft folky soundtrack playing in the background. I lit scented candles around the house, cooked a simple wholesome lunch and cake, supplied plenty of cups of tea, and allowed my lovely students to chat, get to know each other and while away the day creating their own unique wall hangings.

Despite all my nerves (!) the workshops proved a huge success and I received some truly lovely feedback about them, and requests to hold further workshops soon! With that in mind, I am launching some new Autumn dates, and would absolutely love to see you there! Here are some of the things that past attendees said about the workshops:

"I thought the workshop was amazing - so well thought out  - lovely setting, lovely hosts and so relaxing! Just brill!" - Kathryn

"I liked the relaxed informal setting. Friendly, supportive atmosphere." - Martine

"Worth every penny - a really nice day " - Jade

"Thank you! The workshop felt very well organised and thoughtfully designed." - Kate

"Lovely - welcoming, relaxed, fun and inspiring!" - Emily

I will be holding three more workshops at my home before Christmas, each accommodating 6 people, on the following days:

  • Saturday 30 September 11am - 4pm
  • Saturday 18 November 11am - 4pm
  • Saturday 9 December 11am - 4pm

The workshop will teach you everything you need to know to create a beautiful woven wall hanging on a frame loom. You will gain an understanding of different weaving techniques such as rya, looping and pattern making, and you will have a chance to experiment with a wide range of vintage, natural and unusual yarns to create texture and colour. You will receive your own handmade wooden loom, all necessary weaving tools and a weaving guide so that you can carry on weaving after the workshop. By the end of the class you will not only have picked up the techniques and styles needed to create a wall hanging, but will also be on your way to finding your own unique weaving voice!

As part of the workshop, I will also guide you in using elements and scenes from the natural world to inspire your wall hanging. I will also provide plenty of natural images, materials and objects to help you design your weave. If you have a particular scene or landscape you would like to capture, please do bring it along and I will help you translate it into a weaving.

More information about my workshops can be found HERE and tickets can be purchased HERE

Please do get in touch for more information or if you have any questions. I can't wait to meet you!
